The majority of internet users (approx. 86%) use search engines to find what they're looking for. Therefore, it is crucial to optimize your site for the major search engines in order to ensure that your site is maximizing its potential reach.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a both complex - yet simple. There are no "secrets" to optimizing your site to appear in the first few listings. Rather, it simply takes know-how, persistence and hard work, literally.

Major Search Engines provide relevant results. This is because they want to have a large user-base, so that they can charge advertisers for coverage. If the results are not relevant or useful, the user base will decrease, along with the advertising revenue.

Because of this, the major search engines (Google™, Yahoo™, MSN™, Ask Jeeves™, Inktomi™, etc.) have each developed web-crawling algorythms to analyze any given site, and then rank it accordingly by where it decides that it "belongs". For example, a site about business should not rank highly for a search query for "slippers", etc.

The methods by which a search engine will determine where and how your site should be categorized is decided, basically, by two factors:

-Site Content (headers, text, title tags, meta description, domain name, alt image tags, etc.)

-Relevant Link Popularity (links from other sites that are related to similar topics as yours, link text used to link to your domain)

These are generally (and obviously) the only variables that a search engine algorythm has to work with. Therefore it is important to understand how to properly adjust and leverage these variables in order to gain a prominent presence in search results for your targeted keywords.

Our approach to SEO is not one of "trickery" or fast results. In order to properly optimize (and market) your site, thorough keyword research and link-development campaigning is necessary. It can, and usually does, take several months for results to be noticeable in all of the major search engines.

However, the end result of proper SEO and promotion is a continual stream of traffic - and sales - without any "paid" advertising. In fact, the conversion rate from an organic search result is far greater than that of sponsored links or banner campaigns.
